Replica USMC KA-BAR Camillus Combat Knife
To begin with, the USMC KA-BAR Combat Knife is a utility combat dagger manufactured by Camillus Cutlery Company. The company produced millions of knives until filing for bankruptcy in 2007. Its brand name and intellectual property rights were purchased by Acme United Corporation, which relaunched the Camillus brand in May 2009.
During the Second World War , Camillus shipped over 13 million knives in a variety of styles to Allied troops. In 1942, U.S. Marine Corps officers Colonel John M. Davis and Major Howard E. America worked with Camillus to develop a range of Camillus knives.

They developed the KA-BAR combat utility knife. After extensive testing, the KA-BAR prototype was recommended for adoption and Camillus was awarded the first contract to produce the KA-BAR for the Marine Corps.
During the war, Camillus also manufactured M3 combat knives, M4 bayonets and many other utility knives for the American forces, including machetes.
KA-BAR is the popular contemporary name for the combat knife first adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps in November 1942 as Combat Knife 1219C2.
