The Naruto kunai and shuriken replicate the ninja accessories from the series: Minato’s three-pronged kunai, large kunai, sets of three kunai with sheaths, four-pronged shuriken, and Asuma’s chakra blades. Made of steel or metal, these are collectibles designed for display, showcases, and cosplay.
Start with the model. The classic kunai—the one carried by most ninjas from Konoha—comes in a large size: the large kunai with a white handle measures 25 cm and the Naruto's large kunai 24.5 cm, both made of a single piece of metal, with a handle wrapped in cotton thread and a blunt tip. For a more compact size, the set of 3 Naruto kunai 16 cm in size, engraved, and comes with a black Cordura case; it fits easily in a display case.
Minato Namikaze's three-pronged kunai comes in several versions: the Minato Yondaime's kunai 28 cm long, with a beige cotton-covered handle; the space-time kunai 22 cm long, engraved with Minato's seal; and the Minato's gold-plated kunai 21 cm long, with red engraving and the Konoha symbol on the guard. As for the shuriken, the shuriken Naruto Made of steel, with four blunt points, and measuring 9.5 cm in diameter.
In the Naruto manga, Minato’s three-pronged kunai are custom-made: their handles, which are thicker than usual, serve as a marker for his Flying Thunder God technique, and Minato notes that they are slightly heavier than ordinary kunai. He gives one to his student Kakashi Hatake to celebrate his promotion to the rank of jōnin.
Minato’s kunai remain the most recognizable items: their three-pronged shape immediately brings to mind the Fourth Hokage. For a more classic Konoha outfit, pair a large kunai with a shuriken. Fans of Asuma Sarutobi will also find his chakra blades, made of steel and marked with the Naruto logo. Finally, the Naruto Collection also brings together the Naruto katanas.
Before it became associated with ninjas, the kunai was a tool. It is believed to have been derived from a mason’s trowel, and was used by farmers for gardening as well as by stonemasons. The ring on its pommel allowed a cord to be attached to it. The name «shuriken» means “blade hidden in the hand”: the flat, star-shaped models were cut from thin sheets of metal, sometimes made from coins or carpenters’ tools.
Measuring 9.5 to 28 cm depending on the model, these pieces can be displayed on a shelf, in a display case, or on a display stand, next to a katana. To care for them, simply use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust; avoid abrasive products and prolonged exposure to moisture. The classic, single-bladed kunai is the one used by the ninjas in the series: it’s the model found in the large kunai and sets of three. Minato’s kunai has three blades and a thicker handle. Depending on the version, it measures 21 to 28 cm and is available in a steel finish, a gold finish, or engraved with Minato’s seal.

Some models, yes. Sets of three kunai come in a black Cordura sheath, while Minato’s gold kunai and Asuma’s chakra blades come in a faux leather sheath. These sheaths attach to a belt for cosplay. Metal replicas are restricted to adults. When traveling, always keep your kunai or shuriken in its box, case, or pouch—never leave it visible on the street. At conventions and events, metal replicas are usually prohibited, and sometimes even wooden ones: replicas are generally allowed only for cosplayers during parades.
