Start with the character, then choose the version. Metal-core wands—made of resin that mimics wood around a metal rod—usually come in a character box with a character card. The official, hand-painted wands from The Noble Collection come with a nameplate and a wand clip. Finally, check the silhouette—whether it features gnarled wood, a bone shape, or a snake’s head—and the length listed on each product page if you plan to display them in a showcase.
In the novels, wand lengths are measured in inches: 11 inches—about 28 cm—for Harry’s holly wand; exactly 10 inches—about 25 cm—for Draco’s hawthorn wand; 15 inches—about 38 cm—for the Elder wand. So don’t look for these measurements on our product pages: the replicas have their own lengths, ranging from 29 to 41.5 cm.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Harry Potter's wand It resembles holly; its wood is depicted in books, with a handle that looks like rough bark. The 25th Anniversary Box Set brings together its two movie theater models—the ones from the first two films and the ones from the subsequent films, measuring 33 and 34.3 cm—with the resin Philosopher's Stone. The Rafleur's Wand, the official one, is shaped like a half-peeled branch. Hermione Granger's wand resembles a vine and features raised patterns; Ron Weasley's wand imitates the willow, as if it were his second wand.
Dumbledore and Voldemort. Albus Dumbledore's Official Wand, hand-painted, depicts Sureau's wand, the core of which is a strand of Sombral hair. Lord Voldemort's wand It resembles a yew tree and is shaped like a bone. Its core, a phoenix feather, comes from the same bird as that of Harry’s wand, Fumseck: the two wands are twins.
The Malfoys and the Death Eaters. Lucius Malfoy's wand has a snake's head as its handle; at 101 g, it is the heaviest of the metal-core wands. Draco Malfoy's wand resembles hawthorn, and Bellatrix Lestrange's wand can be recognized by its slightly curved shape.
The teachers at Hogwarts. Minerva McGonagall's wand has a handle with smooth, rounded curves; Severus Snape's wand is intricately carved and simple. The gate also brings together other students, members of the Order of the Phoenix, and the Weasley family.
Harry doesn't keep the same wand throughout the story. His holly and phoenix feather wand breaks when he escapes with Hermione from Bathilda Bagshot's house. He then uses a blackthorn wand that Ron took from a Snatcher, but it doesn’t respond to him as well. The one he takes from Draco at Malfoy Manor suits him better: when a wand has been won, its allegiance changes. It is this action that also makes Harry the master of the Elder wand.
Display the metal-core wand in its open box, with the character card next to it, and the official wand on its clip, in front of its nameplate. Dust it off with a soft, dry cloth; avoid moisture and prolonged exposure to sunlight, which could damage the paint; and handle it with care.
To make a young fan happy, we recommend a wand with a metal core: its central core makes it more durable, and it comes in a box with the character’s card. For a collector, opt for an official, hand-painted wand from The Noble Collection, complete with a nameplate. And to create a cohesive display, collect an entire family: the trio, the Malfoys, or the professors.
Check the product description summary. The official wands are from The Noble Collection and bear the label «Officially Licensed Harry Potter Product,» complete with a nameplate and clip. Wands with metal cores are unofficial replicas inspired by the series. Some characters appear in both versions: check the description before ordering.
The wands sold individually are all made of resin. The wands with metal cores are designed to resemble wood, holly, vine, willow, yew, or hawthorn—depending on the character—and feature a metal rod at their core, weighing between 60 and 101 g. The official wands are made entirely of molded resin and are hand-painted. They are collectibles and decorative items, and are also popular among cosplayers.
Most metal-core wands come in a character box with a velvet lining and a character card. Official wands come in a box from the «Characters» collection, along with a nameplate and a display clip. The exact contents are listed on each product page: please check them before ordering.
