To begin with, the Pirate boarding sword is a bladed weapon used in the navy. It's a kind of short saber with a thick blade, used both as a weapon and as a tool (for cutting ropes, for example). Also known as a "pot spoon". A pot spoon is a boarding saber used by the French navy under the First Empire, with a spoon-shaped shell to protect the hand. The expression "en deux coups de cuillère à pot" ("with two swings of the spoon"), meaning "quickly", "violently" or "expeditiously", comes from the jargon of sailors, soldiers, pirates and privateers who used this weapon.

the saber scabbard is not well embedded at its base and leaves a small gap. Too bad, but all in all it's very good.
