How to Choose Your Replica Gun

Start with what you want to display: a movie prop gun or a historical artifact. The Luger P08, Walther PPK, and Colt M1911A1 are also among our German replicas and American forces in World War II ; rifles and antique firearms are on display in our replica weapons.

Next, take a look at the weight and the moving parts. Ranging from 590 g for the Walther PPK to 1,530 g for the Desert Eagle, the weight provides a realistic feel, as do the removable magazine, the sliding bolt, and the tilting cylinder.

Finally, choose the finish: the Nickel-plated Walther PPK Also available in a gold-plated version, the Desert Eagle in black or nickel-plated, and the Colt M1911A1 in a patinated or gold-plated version.

💡 Did you know?

James Bond’s Walther PPK originated from a letter to the editor. In 1956, expert Geoffrey Boothroyd suggested to Ian Fleming that he replace his hero’s small Beretta with a Walther PPK. Fleming incorporated it into the 1958 novel *Dr. No* and named the character who gives it to Bond «Major Boothroyd.» Ironically, in the 1962 film, the “PPK” is actually a Walther PP.

The movie guns in the collection

The Walther PPK remains James Bond's pistol. The Desert Eagle Black, with plates marked with the initials DE, is Agent Smith's from *The Matrix*. The Beretta 92F appears alongside Martin Riggs in *Lethal Weapon* and John McClane in *Die Hard*. As for guns, the 6-inch Colt Python is the Rick Grimes version from The Walking Dead. For a fake Western-style revolver, check out our Colt and cowboy pistols.

Among the historical artifacts, the Mauser C96 can be recognized by its solid wood panels.

📜 A Moment in History

Manufactured by Mauser from 1896 to 1937, the C96 owes its English nickname, “Broomhandle,” to the shape of its grip. In the movies, it enjoyed an unexpected second life: Han Solo’s blaster in Star Wars was made from a C96 with a shortened barrel. This blaster has become so sought-after by cosplayers that fans have modified original Mausers—which are already rare.

Displaying and Caring for Your Replica Gun

Dust it off with a soft, dry cloth—do not use any abrasive products; the'Ballistol universal oil Suitable for both metal and wood. Avoid moisture and direct light.

⭐ Réplique Manga Ciné's Tip

Group your items by theme: guns from movies and TV shows on one side, historical models on the other. Place each replica on its stand and handle it by the grip to avoid leaving marks on the metal. When not on display, store it in its box, out of children’s reach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Denix replica gun fire?

No. Denix replicas are not designed for firing. They replicate the shape, dimensions, and weight of the original models, and most feature moving parts that enhance their realism when displayed. They are intended for collecting, decoration, cosplay, and display, and each product description details their moving parts.

Are these replica guns made of metal or plastic?

These are fake metal pistols: the frame is made of zamak, a zinc-based alloy, with a black, nickel-plated, gold-plated, or patinated finish. The grip panels are made of wood or ABS, a durable molded plastic, sometimes with an ivory-like finish. As a result, they weigh about the same as the real thing, ranging from 590 g to over 1.5 kg.

Can you use a fake gun in a movie or a play?

Yes: Denix states that its replicas are used in movies, TV shows, and reenactments. Choose a model that is true to the era or character, with a realistic weight for a natural feel in your hand. Between takes or performances, the replica stays on set or backstage and is transported in its box.

What is the difference between the 2-, 4-, 6-, and 8-inch Colt Python models?

The barrel length affects the profile and weight: 21 cm for the 2-inch model, 26 cm for the 4-inch model, 31 cm for the 6-inch model, and 36 cm for the 8-inch model, ranging from 870 to 1,140 g. The 6-inch model is the one used by Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. All models feature a tilting cylinder.

Is it legal to buy and carry a fake metal gun?

Metal replicas are restricted to adults. Always carry the replica in its box or in a carrying case; never display it in public. At conventions and events, metal props are usually prohibited, and sometimes even wooden ones; props are generally allowed for cosplayers during parades. Check with the organizer.
