Kratos' Chaos Blades in God of War 4<\/h2>\n

First, there are the Blades of Chaos, Kratos' iconic weapons, which he has carried since the first games in the series. These twin blades, attached by chains, were once symbols of his tragic past and his allegiance to the Greek gods. They return in the fourth installment with a special role and a history steeped in symbolism.<\/p>\n

Offered (or rather imposed) to Kratos<\/a> by Ares, the god of war in Greek mythology. In exchange for his servitude to the god, Kratos receives them and binds himself to a bloody and destructive destiny. Attached to his arms by glowing chains, the blades become an extension of his rage, designed to spread death and terror.<\/p>\n

But in God of War (2018), Kratos attempts to leave this past behind by abandoning the blades. However, faced with growing threats and in order to protect his son Atreus, he has no choice but to return to find the Blades of Chaos. This return symbolizes both a reminder of his bloody past and an acceptance of his true nature in order to perform one final act of protection.<\/p>\n

Chaos Blades: Combat use<\/h2>\n

\u2013 Movements :<\/strong> First, Kratos uses the Swords of Chaos with impressive fluidity. Swinging and twirling the blades to attack multiple enemies simultaneously. Chains enable acrobatic movements and ranged attacks.<\/p>\n

Special Powers :<\/strong> Swords can be ignited, adding fire damage to each strike. They can also break down enemy defenses and interact with specific environmental elements to solve puzzles.<\/p>\n

Evolution :<\/strong> Over the course of the games, the Swords of Chaos evolve, gaining new abilities and becoming even more formidable. In God of War (2018), Kratos picks up these swords after initially using the Leviathan Axe, showing a personal and narrative evolution.<\/p>\n
